The feratel search and booking widget is EU Accessibility Act ready
With a view to the EU Accessibility Act (EAA), which will become mandatory on 28 June 2025, the booking&more booking process has been further developed and successfully tested for digital accessibility.
In an external audit by AccessiWay, the search and booking widget achieved a compliance rating of 91.24%, including full compliance with all critical requirements of WCAG 2.1 at Level AA.
What does this mean in concrete terms?
The feratel search and booking widget can be used by everyone, regardless of physical or technical limitations. Navigation, product view, shopping cart and checkout are therefore barrier-free.
Important information about the EU Accessibility Act
Companies with more than 10 employees or an annual turnover of more than €2 million will be legally required to provide accessible digital services from 28 June 2025. This also applies to websites and booking systems. Although smaller businesses are not legally bound, implementation is strongly recommended, for example to avoid discrimination claims under the Federal Disability Equality Act (BGStG).
By using the search and booking widget, accommodation providers are well prepared for the new legal requirements and are also sending a strong signal for digital participation.
