feratel-AI-plus: AI that is making its mark in tourism

Three companies, one common goal: feratel, Onlim and pixelpoint & dataCycle are pooling their expertise to make artificial intelligence usable where it has an immediate impact: in tourism.

The first step is a smart AI-based voice solution for businesses that have to answer many similar enquiries every day.

Whether ski resort operators, tourism associations, hotels, ski schools or wellness centres: the need for fast, reliable communication is growing. Guests expect round-the-clock information on prices, opening hours, special rates, weather or booking options. Many of these questions are repetitive, and many businesses are reaching their staffing limits.

Under the joint brand feratel-AI-plus, feratel, Onlim and pixelpoint & datacycle are demonstrating that AI in tourism is not a vision of the future, but a tool that can already reduce workloads and improve service quality today when properly integrated.

Voice becomes the interface

User behaviour is changing. People no longer want to fill out forms or navigate through menus. They want to ask questions and get specific answers. Modern AI voice assistants meet this demand.

The AI voicebot: a smart introduction to AI communication

The AI voicebot developed by Onlim is the first solution under feratel-AI-plus. It automatically answers incoming calls, recognises requests, organises callbacks or provides information around the clock. It is quick to implement, intuitively configurable and grows with your requirements. If required, it can be expanded to include agents for bookings, tours, events, FAQs, etc., transforming it from a smart answering machine into a fully-fledged AI voice assistant.

AI that is already in use

feratel already relies on AI in several areas. In the Deskline destination management system, for example, an automated AI bulk service translates texts and creates image descriptions. The Performance Monitor, an analysis and forecasting tool for entire regions, also works with AI support.

A network for new solutions

The three partners feratel, Onlim and pixelpoint & dataCycle have been working together for some time. feratel is a strategic shareholder in both Onlim and pixelpoint and has focused on long-term technology partnerships from an early stage.

The joint approach under the umbrella of feratel-AI-plus scores points because all partners contribute a complementary piece: feratel provides the central data pool – fed by Deskline and numerous interfaces through which accommodation, events, POIs, weather data, prices, mobility information, registration data and much more are continuously fed in. Onlim uses this verified data set to create its AI agents, which recognise questions and answer them accurately. pixelpoint supplements the whole with the data set from dataCycle with additional structured content from the destinations. feratel-AI-plus combines these building blocks and anchors them in the existing tourism system landscape. This results in AI solutions that are based on reliable real-time data and work immediately in everyday tourism.
